Route 2 The old part of Shanghai
Visiting Shanghai is not just about marveling at its height and speed. The old part of Shanghai, namely the Old Town, is also fascinating.

From there we’ll begin to explore the old part of Shanghai.
No.1 Dongtai Lu Antique Market
Wander along Dontai Lu, and discover some of the knick-knacks.
No.2 Old Town
The layout of the Old Town still reflects the footprint of Shanghai’s old 5km-long city walls, though they were torn down in 1912, the outline can still be seen in the circular path of Renmin Lu and Zhonghua Lu.
You may visit Chen Xiang Ge Temple, pay respects to Budda as the locals do. Or pick a window seat in one of the tea houses, sip Chinese tea while watching crowds on Zig-zag Bridge, or simply wander in the Old Town.
No.3 The Bund
Leaving the Old Town, we walk east and finally reach the renowned Bund. Stroll past the landmark buildings, for example, the newly furnished He Ping Hotel, Bank of China Building, the Customs House, where you see architecture of Baroque, Gothic and Renaissance. The Bund ends with Waibaidu Bridge over which trams used to glide. Not far from there is the Russian Consulate General.
No. 4 Nanjing Road
If you are not exhausted yet, why not join us to stroll Nanjing Lu, a pedestrian-only street lined with old department stores and restaurants. It is definitely No.1 most visited place in Shanghai.
No.5 People’s Square
As you walk west to the end of walking street, you’ll find Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall. On the opposite of the Renmin Avenue is Shanghai Museum. Our walking tour ends at the People’s Square
